all discourse aside, there is one machine with consciousness. it's printers. they are alive and conscious and they hate you and they'd take your arm clean off if you let them. never trust a printer.

Yune's OC Puppy eating a pink mooncake. She has heart eyes and a heart speech bubble because it's tasty. Two more mooncakes in the top left

finally taking Chicago buses

not that it's hard, just that there are so many more of them compared to rail lines and you have to just know where they go

if kraftwerk is going to rhyme "is in the air for you and me"/"discovered by Madame Curie"/"tune into the melody" on one of their best songs, then shit I'll just rhyme whatever

while kumquats are likely the healthier option, I could instead drink aperol soda for the same experience and probably have a better time

It's usually manager types who say things like that - the people who have the power to hire workers. So it's really saying "I don't value human work and connections enough to pay for it."

Then, as long as there are still people who value human-made art highly, it will survive, maybe even thrive.

And then there's the classic: "If you don't buy in now, you'll be left behind/unemployable/limiting your career." As if that's supposed to be a threat?

By the way, ever noticed how common it is now for CEOs to dictate subjective aesthetic matters to their prospective customers?

"EVs are more fun to drive than gas cars. (Source: I said so. Please buy our new EV)"
"You'll enjoy your job more if you use our AI. (Source: I said so, please invest)"

It's my little rant against generative AI: how the companies stole artwork for training yet don't pay the artists a penny for it, and the marketing that assumes we're all lazy and hate doing our jobs in an attempt to get us to buy in.

Posted my first electronic track. Hopefully not the last.

A little Detroit techno, a little EBM... electronic music is hard to classify. Defining the genre confines the music.

I was getting a little annoyed by the clock jitter and latency between my DAW and Circuit Tracks, then I realized the jitter was making the sound livelier than if I quantized everything to the grid.

It's not a bug, it's a feature

Just in case some people missed the memo:
DO NOT USE ULINE. EVER.

IDGAF if you think they "have the best prices" or "have the best tape". Buying from them because of one of those reasons just tells me your morals have a price tag.

Throw your packaging sources in the comments.
propublica.org
Much of the cardboard and paper goods strewn about our homes are sold by a single private company, with its name, Uline, stamped on the bottom.

Many may not know that a multibillion-dollar fortune made on those ubiquitous products fuels far-right candidates across the country.

(Published 2022)
That Cardboard Box in Your Home Is Fueling Election Denial
A previously unreported boom in profits for the shipping supply giant Uline has provided the funds for a deeply conservative Midwestern family to bankroll anti-democracy causes around the country.

Some vent art

The news lately has been honestly terrifying and I dont want to say anything in my anger to avoid being a target

I will say I'll be out and proud no matter what, even if hope is slim we have spite and rage

If youre an ally, please be loud for us, we need your advocacy more than ever

This shit makes me so mad because people don't understand how much power we have over these companies and the only thing we need to do is not give them money. The only thing we need to do is to not do anything. It's the easiest shit!

*wearily* collective action does work, it really does

The people you need to take power are not the same as the ones you need to keep it. The same goes for a government as for a social media site

I'm not surprised that those who once proclaimed "a world without Caesars" are rapidly starting to look like Caesars of their own

I might jump ship to the next place if or when it comes along, but even then the cycle would just repeat so long as someone holds centralized power over the platform
