Have decided to rename the drawer in the kitchen where we keep the tea "The Caffeine Center of Excellence." Well, drawers. And the pantry where the overflow goes. And also that shelf by the pantry where we keep the additional boxes of tea that don't fit in the pantry. Also, we drink a lot of tea 🫖

Definitely switching away to Linux after grades are in. Since my PC is not getting to driving age . . . but close . . . I'm in for an upgrade there too. So buy or build? I haven't put together a PC in ages, but a.) it's fun, b.) I'm still thinking about audio,

Working on a series of audio erasure poems using recordings of NOAA all hazards stations I made as I traveled this year. Next up, to fit with the phone phreaking poems, I'd like to do audio erasures of phone error messages (as in "The number you have dialed is no longer in service....") The snag?

I've been there enough now to know that Wyoming actually borders MT, ID, UT, CO, NE, and SD, but it still >feels< like WY also borders North Dakota, Kansas, Oregon, West Virginia, Manitoba, and, like, Liechtenstein for some reason? Especially after flying over. It's large. It's not Texas, but still

Charging radios this afternoon. Haven't bothered scanning SW bands in quite a while. AM is trashed enough with noise, even strong locals. It's the 24/7 QRM Show around here 🙄

Hey, blue sky, what Linux distros do we love? I know the obvious answer here is "go research this yourself," which I will do. I can't unWindows my PC (er, defenestrate?) until the end of the semester, but I'm looking around now. It's just . . . been a while, haha. Most recent #linux project involved

Well, here's the new Retekess V115P. My Retekess V115 still works fine. One of them does, anyway. The other had an . . . incident . . . with the USB charger port and, well, I haven't fixed that yet. Anyway, I bought this because I do actually use the V115 quite a lot to record from other radios and

My attempts at writing in different genres are being thwarted by the fact that the potential harms of technology (looking at you, LLMs) as I've been writing about in my science fiction also keep appearing in my cozy mysteries....

When you're exhausted and achy but your hobbies include listening to over-the-air recordings you made on the road for idents and things (in this case NOAA stations) so it's all good. I need to figure out a better system for recording . . . what I'm recording . . . while I'm out recording it, hah

I will accept "grouchy reminder," "indifferent reminder," "passive aggressive reminder,' and possibly "a reminder that carries with it the rage of a thousand angry wasps descending upon you."
