Probably should be higher, but like The Smiths, I got into The Cure later, so the albums I listened to in the 80’s usually take precedence.

Elt can usually be found towards the bottom of these challenges, always makes it though! This LP will be in my Dad’s collection somewhere and I’ll know the songs, despite only recognising Nikita from the tracklist😆

Pre-OON I just haven’t listened to REM enough, hence the relative low ranking (though still making the countdown).
The whole album rumbles along in a very satisfying manner, with the sample track in the comments a highlight.

We’ve thanked our host @musiccountdownguy.bsky.social - now we need a great send off, and 1985 seems a great place to do it!
My list kicks off at a favourite shop, where style combines with socialist attitudes and council dwelling principles.

Some seriously good albums ranked this month, thanks to the guys for this challenge, let’s hope it keeps going!
OK Computer: Complete.

I was not sure for the first few plays, a bit bland and daft at times. Then, towards the end of I’m a Rebel, we finally get the familiar baritone and he wrenches out the word ‘Sometimes’ and I’m in - for the whole piece

From The Holy Bible, which is an overall experience rather than ‘track snippets’, we have this brutal examination of anorexia.

Dalton was blessed with two great theme songs, this was my all time favourite for years, until another came along…

The genius of Neil Finn, backed by his brilliant band.
This is a perfect album, lyrically strong, musically exceptional and songs that stay with you.
The sample track below is an absolute worldie!

U2 at their experimental best, still highly digestible and enjoyable with highest level output like Stay, Lemon, Zooropa and interesting departures that include Numb (Edge vocal), The Wanderer (Cash vocal) and Daddy, who will pay for your crashed car!

The last truly special New Order album, and a CD that got more spins than many others in my collection.
It starts with Regret, and fires out the bangers and ballads all the way through to the final Avalanche.

The third album by Hothouse Flowers is the prime standard for the band, it’s that level up, a heavenly experience if you will.
I recommend everyone to listen.

Everything you want from the Meat Loaf / Jim Steinman partnership.
No longer with us, but their ridiculous, brilliant music lives on 🎸🎸

The bright orange bobbly packaging, pointy hats, bonus disc of dance tracks - it was easy to forget the actual LP!
Thankfully it was ‘very’ much up to standard.
