Right? People who can talk about it like they're "self insuring" their homes. Why pay premium to the insurance company when they can save it and use it towards rebuilding.

Most of the folks moving into and buying in our area are buying with cash. No inspections, fast closings and no insurance required. So the insurance issue doesn't impact them.

I think you could expand that to all types of insurance. Homeowners here has gotten out of control and our politicians aren't addressing the issue at all.

I've fixed ours multiple times. I'm stubborn and I refuse to let it actually *die* because plumbers are expensive (along with everything else down here) 🤷🏻♀️
