Last light of the day coming in under an overpass, onto a concrete pavement, illuminating three concrete bollards. A westward view, during the last light of the day, of a concrete overpass overlooking a street, going towards the horizon, concrete buildings in the distance.

I made the "Ritual Observations" project in the second half of 2024 for the Focale Association Members' Workshop. On Saturday there was the opening of the group expo at the Chateau de Nyon. If you are in the area, you can still visit the expo until Sunday, Jan 19th.

A grid of photos with 6 columns and 15 lines. Over a period of three months, I took the same short walk multiple times, all within 500m of my home. I chose six points during the walk which I photographed from the same position every time. The resulting grid contains 15 repetitions of the walk, one per line. Within each line, the photos are shown in chronological order, and each line was taken after the previous one.

Advent of Photography Day 14 - The Bouncer
A little birdie is sitting by itself in front of the entry to a building (it’s a beautiful modernist church in Paris’s 12th arrondissement). There are brick walls to the sides and two thin concrete columns dividing the picture in three equal vertical slices. The birdie is slightly to the left of the left column, positioned as per the rule of thirds.

I’m very happy to see the recent evolution of Bluesky. It feels like 8-10 years ago on Twitter.

It’s motivating me to start sharing photos again, so I want to start with something simple: Advent of Photography - post every day until Christmas.
