@rafnicholson.bsky.social Australia aren't looking like they can beat Australia in this tournament.

She had to go off the field (unsure why) but Joty said she would be fine for the next match.

For goodness sake - I don't like saying this, because officiating is a difficult job, but the third umpiring in this match has been inexcusably poor.
rafnicholson.bsky.social
Not from me! It was a bizarre match and told us nothing about where England are really at with the bat.
rafnicholson.bsky.social
England were a whisker (and a poor umpiring decision) away from being 6-3 against Bangladesh. I can't see how that is "playing like second favourites".
rafnicholson.bsky.social
You really think England are better than India?
rafnicholson.bsky.social
They are good, and Marufa swings it a mile. But England should have plans to counteract that - they look nervous.

This is why the hype after the South Africa game was unhelpful. England's batting was basically untested there. Today they should have been 6-3 against Bangladesh - they do NOT look like a team who are going to win this World Cup. #CWC25

Did you pay for your travel out of your own pocket?
rafnicholson.bsky.social
What a massive own goal for the ICC to refuse to make post-match World Cup press conferences available to join via Zoom. They cannot realistically expect overseas freelancers to travel between 5 grounds & 2 countries?

A cynic might say they don't actually WANT independent press coverage 👀

Tell me again why Sophie Devine is retiring? 😭 #CWC25

Hi Nick - just wondering what the baseline was for the women’s numbers? Is it based on regional coverage or….?

Just spoken to Charlotte Edwards ahead of England's World Cup opener v South Africa on Friday.

She is confident that Nat Sciver-Brunt will bowl 10 overs (although they will have to manage workload for future matches). The XI is still TBC, but she did say Heather Knight will bat at 3.

Wow! Are Sri Lanka on the verge of upsetting the apple cart against the tournament co-hosts? 5 down and Harmanpreet GONE.

India lost their first match of last year's 20-over World Cup as well - and it cost them a place in the semi-finals.

A fabulous event last night - honoured to have been part of the panel tasked with critiquing the new edition of Richard Holt’s classic text.

There was a lot of love for Professor Holt in the room - it really felt like a celebration of the very best of our #sportshistory community 😊

She’s certainly caused a dilemma after today’s warm-up!
