No you don't need to make games quicker. There's more games coming out every single day, than I can buy&play in a month. The only way "more games, quicker produced" makes sense is if you view publishing as gambling - in that case many cheap shots at hitting the jackpot might sound reasonable.

I miss Flash. I mean, not it's security flaws, but the ease it allowed creative people to go from "just doing funny animations" to actually coding little games. There was so much creativity around. 😥
