If it weren't for the Knight having holes in its hands I'd downright say that the "hands" being buttons/buckles is actually a far more likely interpretation of the sprite.
Its fucking wild i've never seen the take before, I was just looking at Mysteryman and suddenly realized.

I wouldnt usually agree with an assessment so specific, but considering the door in Ralsei's castle that has a heart surrounded by wings in very similar fashion to the Delta Rune... the similarity to a heart might be important.
