Ya know what else is a permanent body modification for the sole purpose of altering one's external appearance as an expression of their inner self? A tattoo. But I guarantee the same people giving you shit for what you've listed wouldn't bat an eye at you getting a tattoo.

A good test if youre letting an industry falsely blame the individual: replace "tech" with "tobacco" and see how it sounds.
"The kids are gonna get it anyway, so the industry shouldn't have to restrict itself"
"Parents should be stopping them, not age verification at the store"

These tech companies already know who is using what at exactly what time bc that data is how they advertise. They don't want to alter their profit machines, so they push the narrative of blaming parents. This comment section doesn't pass the vibe check.

This happened often enough they had to remove the phrase "additive-free" from their advertising.

But that's a different consumer choice: cigs are an item that you want, but don't need. People need to have cars and need to use gasoline. Wouldn't that just add guilt before ultimately desensitizing people to the issue?
