it genuinely pisses me off how hard it is for people in society to embrace the creative endeavours they dream of. for the first time in my life i’m not living paycheck to paycheck and for the first time i feel as though i can be creative. imagine the art we’d have if didn’t live in capitalism

I’ve wanted to be able to play a string instrument for a long time, but somewhere along the way, I picked up the belief that learning a new skill like that is exponentially harder once your malleable child’s brain solidifies into adulthood. That’s got to be one of our most damaging societal lies.
