Yeah, often paracetamol OD isn't planned, it's impulsive. If you have to go to multiple shops, even if you overdose, the dose is reduced so your prospect of survival is increased.

There was a proposal to drop tablet strength to 750mg for that reason (though it never went through).

There is, I believe, good evidence that the ban on buying fewer than two packets of ibuprofen/paracetamol reduces have from overdose (plus it makes logical sense).

I was slightly shocked to see their bulk buy paracetamol suicide containers.

I think to be pair, for acute pain in the community with people who don't got bonkers with it ± dislike codeine, it's not terrible.

Haven't used it in hospital for years.

Yeah, it's experimental so does get stuff wrong in the AI "you don't 'understand' the subtle thing I'm asking" way. And (presumably to not destroy the planet) you can only ask it a certain amount of stuff.

Great for syntax questions though where it will just give you the answer.

Oh that's interesting. We periodically use iso for our asthmatics but because we're getting rid of iso in theatres, we're going to use sevo. I wonder if this will cause an issue.

It's interesting because I'm curerntly doing CS50, Harvard's free Intro to Computer Science module.

It comes with an experimental AI bot but designed *not* to give you answers, only suggestions. Part of learning anything is the grind and more generally I worry AI is taking that away.

Honestly, brain surgery isn't that hard either. It is, to quote a general surgical colleague, "fucking boring".

Anyway, the system is changing so getting a GP appointment will be very easy and done by app. The waiting list will just be 6 months.

you have to do is make sure that
the thrust the engines produce
is greater than the weight of the
rocket and off they go. "It's not
getting an appointment with your
GP" would be a better phrase, as
this is virtually fucking impossible.

I was told not to teach a class on the intellectual histories of Zionism and Anti-Zionism next year - not because they doubted I could teach it fairly, but because it would attract too many politicians scrutinizing the syllabus.

A society where that is a valid fear is no longer fully democratic.
