Delivering about 40 donated shoes to the asylum seekers. Each pair wrapped and adressed to individuals who asked for shoes.

We are grateful to the ladies at Iqra Academy for organising collection of quantities of shoes for the asylum seekers in the hotels here. Here we are, after a lunchtime meeting!

Many thanks to the St Andrews First Aid team for anotger superb demonstration of CPR and defibrillator skills. We learn useful ways of treating choking, and bandaging too.

A great turnout to hear Sarah Cleary talk about the benefits of volunteering. She was listened to attentively, and then we all helped the guys apply online for volunteering opportunities. Cake and coffee, courtesy of the Get on Line organisation, were much appreciated.

Indeed, our learners are encouraged to enrol for a free online course about First Aid for Adults. Good for their English, First Aid skills, and there's a certificate to gain!

A big thank you to Daniel from St Andrew's First Aid who, together with colleague, first explained then demonstrated CPR and defibrillator use. We were all fascinated by his account, and enjoyed having the opportunity to practise on the models. A great afternoon for both learners and teachers !
