I am an ecologist. My research interests are primarily in the fields of applied animal ecology and conservation biology. My research goals align with helping managers make science-based decisions to promote sustainability and conservation of species.
By this argument we can then say that elephants were saved by their coevolution with chimpanzees haha. I think we always oversimplify very complex processes including humans as a group. But I find labelling all humans as destructors is quite dangerous. The perpetuators get responsibility diluted.

But Asia is full of large animals, elephants, rhinos, large herbivores. Never understood well this idea that in Africa large animals exist coz they coevolved with humans. I don’t like to romanticise aboriginal people, but I do think there is good evidence that it is not all humans.
