Alice in Brexitland
@ramblingali.bsky.social
EU citizen in the UK.
However, this relies on the said people to want UH for everyone. As it stands, deeply narcissistic people such as MAGA would rather cut an arm off than see others benefit from something they paid for.

You couldn’t pay me to travel to the US. I’ll gladly go to Canada instead. Even if Mango Mussolini and his Ketamine Overlord go, 77 million voted for this.

Spot on. And we’ve tolerated the intolerant for long enough. It’s time to stand up

I grew up reading accounts from WW2 (mainly Jewish) as my home country had been deeply affected by it. From the west and from the east. One thing I noticed early - there is a lot of pain people will accept in the name of hate. And the rest watch in disbelief, waiting for someone else to save them.

Less than it took the moustache man last century 🙃

If you’re lucky (and I don’t say that lightly). It looks more like it’s going down the Venezuela path, which after all used to be one of the world’s top 10 economies until a several decades ago. It’s possible and it’s happening right now.

Blimey my vision was being silly for a moment. I thought I’d seen a tiny moustache in the picture under Lowe’s nose just now.

No, you don’t have to follow orders like the Nazis did! You have brains, don’t you? Or have Americans lost them for good?

Cruelty is the point. That’s always the case with abusers.

Everyone tried to warn the US but we were called woke and communist.

I agree they should not be allowed to exist. Tolerance of the intolerant will only lead to our destruction. But since their party cannot be dissolved legally, sometimes the limelight will do it for them. Fascists aren’t good for economy or the soul. All its roads lead to misery.

The land of the desPOTUS. Vile, vile people. No matter how much they try to suppress the truth, we see it. If only they learnt from history! Every dictator, every empire built on violence will fall sooner or later

There is very little that can be said that can change their radical thinking. Only consequences can maybe open their eyes. A third of any country will always be quite easily manipulated and radicalised.

The solution is for the majority to be politically aware and involved.

Romanian here - there IS clear evidence of Russian interference. It was, however, not presented in a concise, easy-to-understand language. A lot of the population aren’t educated and they harbour a historical distrust of politics. We know Russian “love” all too well. Most wouldn’t openly support it.
February 20, 2025 at 10:20 AM
In the UK, Russian interference was called “the will of the people” while our sleepy, inefficient institutions failed to protect us from the worst of our instincts as a nation.

Resisting is not enough, though. Education, equality, and enhancement of democratic systems must happen without delay.

It’s a difficult position to be in and this is when the PM needs support the most not emotional reactions and withdrawal of support. Politics isn’t all black and white. Let’s be grateful. We could’ve had Johnson - Chamberlain with a bib, keenly awaiting the downpour of US goo down its open mouth.

I work with RAF and Navy veterans. They used to be pro Brexit in the beginning. Not a word of support in years. They’re awesome people but fortunately possess critical thinking and the ability to suppress their ego and admit a mistake when they’ve made one.

I don’t hear anyone around me support Brexit anymore. But people’s egos don’t allow them to admit their mistake. It’s silly. Especially in dangerous times like this. And gvt is still trying to appease those who voted for Brexit instead of thinking strategically.
