Trying to plug away at JRPG Idle - just a few more area maps left in Alpha.

It may be an Idle game, but I want to make sure there's something cool to bring each area to life. Thankfully someone left their dynamite out so we could discover these mysterious ruins!

I've had so little time for games lately, but when the FFT remake was announced, I started a challenge run of the "WotL Tweak" mod to get pumped. Never played it before, but great mod!

Cut it a little close, but very fun playthrough.

We have strayed so far from God's light

Kinda not that interested in a DQVII remake honestly. Game is an amazing adventure, but it is so incredibly bloated

It's fun to explore and experience the different cultures, but very thin through-line. Literally can't recall the conflict

People look at me weird when I tell them I don't like doing things on my phone

At least on desktop you usually don't have to precisely scroll the 1 inch of onscreen content so that it fits between the ads.

Went for an early morning skate at the college track to beat the heat / rain

There was this little kid on a scooter with one of those mohawk helmets following me around the track, it was pretty cute @_@

Definitely not how I hoped they would use the gobs of extra space they have - this layout is wild and uneven.

The mammoth tooltip in combat makes a bit more sense now... It looks so different from the central panel though?

LOVE LOVE LOVE the class art. A bit weird seeing the character 3 tiems.

Fun fact:

At one point I was making a little FFT Randomizer. I never finished it, and unity updates seem to have been unkind to the project..

This was my favourite run I got out of it though :)

Thinking I'll do a writeup about FFT Remake's UI, but as I've been thinking about it, the only thing that really makes sense to me for putting the menu on the right here, is for mobile.

Mobile is not a listed launch platform, but I'm expecting it will come later.

Like look at their own comparison, why is this so cluttered?

LOVE the Central damage result but...

Do you need to know your Faith and JP at all times forever? Or your enemy's JP to next level?

This grid is so much denser than 3 clean columns

To be honest I'm not super jazzed about all the new visuals. I'm okish with the sprites, but the new UI is kind of ehhhh. The bars are ugly, the layout isn't as balanced, and I wish they would leave the glowing numbers look in FXIV

Pretty pumped about things like the class tree though!

Working on the Quest system for JRPG Idle! Now with objective text, and a little waypoint to help direct you around. Very thankful for my Ubisoft experience as I do this 😅

Sometimes it feels like development on JRPG Idle is so slow, but every time I take a short break, I come back thinking, "wow, it really has come such a long way!" 😊

I've been refactoring the combat screen lately, what a journey it's been already!
