Love Factory Showroom but Apollo 18 has to be my favorite. Strong nostalgic vibes on top of being a great album.

I was a poor kid, and every year my mom would give me enough money for one faire book. You’d have thought it was all the gold in the world, it was so special to me, getting to choose a new book. They’re now ruining the warm fuzzy feeling I’ve always had for the Scholastic book faire

Wait you're saying not every idea I have off the top of my head to fix the writer's draft isn't pure solid gold?!

I am, for one, very offensed.

...ok, you might have a point.

Fair enough. There's a lot of stuff I enjoyed in the time 15+ years ago that I look at now and give serious side-eye and wonder why it didn't set off more alarms when I read it back then. But we all live and learn and grow, I suppose. Or at least, we try.

I stopped after Serpentwar. Anything in later books I'm ignorant of. While I found quality to decline through what I read, I didn't find anything fundamentally offensive. Just wondered. While not perfect, I've a strong nostalgic tie to the Riftwar and wondered if I'd missed something egregious. TY.

Sorry I'm sort of reaching back on a two-week old post, but may I ask what you found problematic about Feist? I can see allegations of his work being derivative and tropey, but - at least as far as Riftwar is concerned - I remember nothing warranting comparison to Goodkind's Rayndian fetishism.
