Haha fair point about twitter. We do have platform mobility though and the door would be open for us to sue for ToS violations, something practically impossible with 230. I’m also encouraged by common carrier status cases coming out of states like FL and TX which would maybe benefit us too

Not saying you’re entirely wrong either btw. Compelling arguments abound. But 230 primarily serves to protect meta and friends in the end, not so much us. At least in my experience working there.

We’ve been seeing draconian T&S mod policy for a while. Meta hired one of the writers of project 2025 to lead its T&S teams. Users can always migrate to a new platform. 230 repeal doesn’t automatically mean the government moderates us, it means platforms are pubs. User liability is unchanged.

Why were there politics staffers in the first place at Teen Vogue? Can’t imagine that’s something that draws in a lot of readers since they already have so many other places to go for that sorta thing
