The thing I'm struggling to square is that in many ways the characters involved in this trump admin are stupider/more maliciously cartoonish than the first, and yet this time they have had so much more success in achieving their platform objectives in also a much shorter time frame

It's also such a wild and disappointing misread of the entire cycle we went through post George Floyd. We protested for defund, cities largely responded with more police funding on the idea that better training = better outcomes. 5 yrs later and it's just a better compensated terrorist organization

Yea I definitely agree there. The most exciting things happening are on the women's side (draft abolishment, full contract guarantees) and it's stuff that would be a pipe dream on the men's side. It is fun seeing the league side struggle to negotiate effectively without those same levers to pull

I don't think we have to tear down other labor actions in order to lift up another. 100M shouldn't be enough for the bloated mega rich men if that leaves the other 70% of the pie for the governors

Love the return of the comets (if they can get the name) but this is a disaster. Fertitta isn't even willing to pony up scratch funds to improve very subpar facilities for the NBA team and that side prints money. Hard to see this being anything other than another governor on growing the league

That happens to me with baking a lot. Want thing, make thing, disappointed in thing, make thing again, pray it's good enough that i can move on with my life. If it's still bad i usually just give up and buy a good version of it
