His justification? “If we don’t do it, Russia or China will take over Greenland, and we’re not going to have Russia or China as a neighbor,” Trump said. “So we’re going to be doing something with Greenland, either the nice way or the more difficult way.” Trump repeated his frequent refrain that he “saved” Nato, while insisting that he still supports alliance. “If it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t have a Nato right now,” the president said today. “But we’re not going to allow Russia or China to occupy Greenland, and that’s what’s going to happen if we don’t.”

A book of art history, The Boy (2003) — published in the United States as The Beautiful Boy —, was illustrated with 200 photographs of what The Observer called "succulent teenage male beauty". Greer described the book as an attempt to address modern women's apparent indifference to the teenage boy as a sexual object and to "advance women's reclamation of their capacity for, and right to, visual pleasure". The cover photograph, by David Bailey, was of 15-year-old Björn Andrésen in his character of Tadzio in the film Death in Venice (1971). The actor complained about Greer's use of the photograph, saying it was used without his permission and was disturbed by the contents of the book. He stated "Adult love for adolescents is something that I am against in principle... Emotionally perhaps, and intellectually, I am disturbed by it—because I have some insight into what this kind of love is about." Some writers characterised the book's nature as paedophilic, with Greer herself admitting that she expected to be called a paedophile after publication.

She doesn't believe in gender equality and would love to punch down at her fellow women. She would also love to muzzle the media so they cannot criticize the govt, opposes same-sex marriage, and wants to force religion on the Japanese populace.
Takaichi has expressed socially conservative views on several issues. She said in December 2020 that proposed legislation to recognize separate family names for married couples could "destroy the social structure based on family units". Takaichi also opposes revising the Imperial Household Law to allow women to accede the Chrysanthemum Throne. While opposing the legalization of same-sex marriage, she has also said that "there should be no prejudice against sexual orientation or gender identity" and expressed support in "promoting understanding itself." Takaichi has advocated stricter regulations on the media, including penalties for outlets that she believes unfairly criticize the government, and legal consequences for defacing or damaging Japan’s national flag. In 2014 she hosted office visits for far-right extremists. Also in 2014, a photo surfaced of Takaichi pictured for an advertisement in a Tokyo magazine endorsing a 1994 book titled Hitler's Election Strategy. Takaichi serves as the vice chairperson of the parliamentary conference of the Shinto Association of Spiritual Leadership (Shinto Seiji Renmei), which advocates for restoration of Shinto religious rites and moral education.

You know I don't actually think it's good to have "girl-boss" fascism. And using feminist language, like "shattering the glass ceiling", to describe a far-right nut-jobs getting into power, regardless of their gender, is gross.
Basically summarising the gross views of Takaichi in regards to her denying or downplaying historical atrocities committed by Japan during war-time

I generally don't like indulging in conspiracism or rumours, but some claim Trump has been having trans ischemic attacks i.e. mini strokes. He went dark for a while with no media appearances and then came back, then this image circulated which seems to show a drooping face, which shows after a TIAs

People need to understand that the US is very rapidly descending back into some of the darkest politics of the 20th century. What Kilmeade said is an obvious echo of literal Nazi eugenics. Take a look at this poster from 1938 Germany and tell me how its any different!

Correction. The govt is looking to reinstate voting rights for long term mental health patients. This is good. But my opinion on the un-democratic nature of the prisoner voting ban and the ban on same day registration stands.
Alongside the prisoner voting ban, Cabinet is proposing to change rules for people detained in hospitals or secure forensic facilities under compulsory mental health or intellectual disability orders, making them eligible to vote. This ban currently captures people who had not been convicted of committing a criminal act, but have been detained in a facility or hospital for three or more years. These people would now be eligible to vote.
