IF democrats gain power back. It's not looking likely at this point with all the redistricting republicans are doing to gain more seats in order to keep themselves in power. We're cooked as a country and the West in general, assuming we survive the chaos that is coming, for probably many years.

And USA plans to spend $0 on weapons for Ukraine, because trump doesn't want to upset his bestie putin in the kremlin, while Zelenskyy hasn't donated enough millions towards the ballroom.

Given that, why would putin feel any sort of pressure to make a "deal"? He doesn't. There's no pressure on russia. All the pressure is on Ukraine. So putin can easily continue to make maximal demands while Ukraine suffers due to lack of help from USA, and hybrid warfare by both USA and russia vs EU.

Probably something completely nonsensical and incomprehensible to the current administration of USA like "we want borders to be respected", "war crimes to be accounted for", or "we don't want to be friends with russia".
