Maybe, just maybe, because they have over stock with lots of consoles that were not impacted whatsoever by this RAM situation. PlayStation did the same.
Just saying...

Maybe this will be cool software wise.
Sick and tired of the whole ultra RT Nanite Lumen patch traced features while games run like dogs*it (stutters of all kind, desync, VRAM leaks, frame pacing issues, broken at launch, and so much more).

Great place to claim free games and then play them on STEAM OS, via HEROIC LAUNCHER

Imposible. I was told by PS fanboys Sony PC strategy was a failure and they were going back to full exclusives

Building the device costs around $400 to $450.
I don't think they will subsidize it but won't plan to get a lot of profit from it.
I think Valve wants to spread Steam OS and this at $500 or $550 can achieve that

YESSSS 🤩

Valve needs to price this right. This can lead to better support for Linux, including anti cheat and Nvidia taking it seriously.
If this succeeds, no doubt we will get better Steam Machines from both Valve and third parties...
Let's pray 🙌🏼

I couldn't believe I needed to mod Sonic Adventure 2 and GTA IV last time in order to make them run on Windows 11 while on my Deck I just pressed play and they worked.
How come an interpreter speaks better your native language than you?
Windows is hilarious...

For me, it is all about pricing.
This is actually more powerful than Series S with better CPU, no online fees, cheaper games and well, a PC in the end.
But I have the feeling Valve will actually retail this one's. If not, they would have probably open preorders from today as they did with SD

Thank you so much for what you have done!
I will get the Steam Machine to have it in my bedroom along with my Steam Deck, while having Bazzite on my beefy PC and enjoy the whole Linux ecosystem you, Valve and many other people have built with love and passion 💜

You either sell me digital or physical. Any attempt in between is simply bs.

One of the best games ever. So happy to know the sequel is alive. We must support it!

Unless you have an RX 9070+ / RTX 4070ti / 5070+, yes

Yes, native 1440p and not 1080p upscaled.

Thank you so much for being part of making Linux a real alternative.
My PC gaming daily life has changed a lot with Steam Deck, Steam OS and Bazzite 🙏🏼
November 4, 2025 at 4:20 AM
I feel the exact same way.
I currently have a 9070xt with Bazzite and the Steam OS gaming mode concept is what I always wanted for a living room device.
Still not fully baked but preferable for me over W11.
However, if Xbox can bring us this concept properly, I am absolutely in

I am gladly willing to pay $1000 for that thing if they give me the whole boundaries of PC gaming while the ease of use from consoles.
Mods, no online paywall, all my PC gaming library, all my Xbox console library and being able to choose whatever controller I want
October 27, 2025 at 2:40 PM
You guys should spread more info about Linux. Maybe some people decide to go there and we can start seeing some pushback towards MS
October 27, 2025 at 1:45 PM
You guys at digital foundry should promote the usage of Linux more. Distros like Bazzite and CatchyOS are a big deal.
Trying to counter MS Windows is simply imposible. We need people realize alternatives exists and you have the channel to do it imo

I want Windows to be more Xbox, not Xbox to be more Windows.
I don't care who leadership thought the absolutely terrible work Windows Gaming has done is better than the Xbox console team

I have tried it on Steam Deck and it is a game changer, definitely. It makes Stellar Blade look insanely better even in performance mode.
