I don't want Mario to play things safe, they come up with some of their wildest concepts when they let their imaginations run wild.

You know I want Peach to be more independent and be more involved in the action, I welcome new villains to the rouge's gallery, and more character interactions, etc..

Galaxy 3 seems like the game we're gonna get, and I'm not anti-voice acting for Mario. I think if we get another voice acting game, it'll be far better than what Sunshine gave us.

I'm one of the few people that would be fine with Yoshi speaking full English.

I know it's a Donkey Kong game, but I do like the stronger emphasis on story, the character dynamic between DK and Pauline, and the antagonists feeling like actual characters and a certain king still remaining the baddest motherfucker alive.

I'm just using Myles as an example. I'll say, the game isn't out yet and he might not be as bad as the internet has made him out to be.

But when it comes to trying something new, you need to make sure to execute it right.

Imagine if we got a Mario game where we had a Toad let's just say have the most nails on a chalkboard-like voice and won't stop talking through the adventure. Or acting like a glorified tutorial where he's literally telling what to do.
November 30, 2025 at 4:11 AM
I think you're missing my point. I'm not saying we should appease these people. I'll bring up Arlo, who's got legit issues with Myles, is that he's a "quippy" character with "Marvel humor", and when it comes to what Metroid Prime is, a game about isolation, he just doesn't fit.

I'm saying for them to not do anything, just that one tiny thing is enough to set them off. I'm not happy about my generation being vilified and considered "cringe". Nintendeen's video on Prime 4's millennial writing makes him not want to introduce his own kids to Nintendo.

Most of the Nintendo rage bait grifters are right-wing, one of them is an open racist.

We're already seeing constructive criticism get buried under a sea of ragebaiters that are just looking to make a quick buck off Nintendo hate because it's popular.

Not really insufferable fans, more so I don't want culture war BS to come into Mario.

Some on the far-right go straight into insanity with conspiracies like the "Jews are in league with Nintendo to turn all the kids gay".

of a molehill.

People are already writing Prime 4 off as a lost cause because of Myles McKenzie and the game is "poisoned" with millennial writing and calling the game "woke". These people will literally have a microscope over the tiniest, most minute thing and if they don't like it, they'll make a mountain out
November 30, 2025 at 2:37 AM
that might be opened if the characters aren't written the way people want them and see people say "Ugh, they turned Luigi into some soyboy beta male cuck Redditor", "Peach is just a generic bossbitch and another sign men have no reason to exist", etc. You know the types I'm talking about.

But I'll bring up this, we see with the Myles McKenzie controversy, if something doesn't satisfy a certain group, they are out for blood. I think about what we'd see in a Mario game with a deeper story with full on voice acting and a stronger emphasis on narrative, but I dread the Pandora's Box...

When the Switch 2's 3D Mario adventure comes out, I'm still going to love every bit of the adventure, even if the plot is simple and the main bad guy is Bowser. He's too iconic and it's always fun to beat him, like both Galaxy games have peak final boss fights.
November 30, 2025 at 2:29 AM
I do like the introduction of new foes, but some of Bowser's fights, like in Galaxy 1, you're fighting him in the center of the fucking universe where the stakes absolutely feel like they are at the highest. I'm like "Alright, put up your dukes, Bowser! Let's do this!" when it's time to fight.
November 30, 2025 at 2:28 AM
I get where you're coming from, but sometimes it is nice to have a simple experience where you go around having a blast. I do want more than just "Bowser bad, rescue Peach" plot, and I am glad the latter seems to be phasing out given the movie, Wonder, and Showtime.

With the RPGs, an interesting story is essential. For the sports games and Mario Party games, it's a nice bonus. But for the mainline games, it's not that big of a deal. I'll still have a blast kicking Bowser's ass and whatnot.
November 30, 2025 at 1:26 AM
When it comes to Mario's mainline games, is an interesting story really necessary? I'm going through these games having an absolute blast exploring the levels, beating up enemies, collecting stars/moons, etc. Yeah, it's the basic routine, fight Bowser, rescue Peach. But it's still fun as hell.
