In this article, we're going to take a look at how some of the early Christians thought of the Lord's Supper (aka Holy Communion, the Eucharist, Communion, etc.). This definitely won't be anything extensive; but more of a brief introduction to the topic. First, how is it viewed today? Well, there are many different views, ranging from a non-sacramental symbolic remembrance all the way to various ideas on what is (sometimes) called the Real Presence, which is the belief that Jesus' body and blood are either actually present in the bread and wine, or that the bread and wine are physically changed into His body and blood, and those who partake are partaking of His body and blood.

The 1937 Disney adaptation of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is, believe it or not, a good parallel to every person's life. How so? Well, the queen tricks Snow White into eating a poisoned apple, which puts her into a death-like sleep. She has no way of rescuing herself or otherwise getting herself out of this sleep since, essentially, she is dead.

Many people might think something along the lines of, "I guess it's cool that you have faith/are a Christian. But why should I be interested?" I think this might be specifically more for the younger generation (specifically Gen Z and younger), who seem fairly open to and curious about various religions and/or spirituality practices. So, let's explore some ideas on how or why Christianity should be considered when seeking a religion.

Ideally, it should be a lifestyle. There are many different religions across the world. We live today in a culture deeply steeped in relativism, which supports and encourages religious pluralism, the denial of objective truth and, ultimately, the denial of reality. In the world of religions, Christianity stands out. Most world religions are based on feelings and subjectivity—which undoubtedly fits in with our culture of relativism.

I just came across this new creed and wanted to share it; I think it's wonderful! It was released in October 2024. The website states: Every era has its particular heresies. In the 21st century, heresies abound in the area of human sexuality. The church has not been immune to these errors. We believe the time has come for a new creed that affirms the timeless teachings of the church regarding sexual integrity, and that articulates God’s glorious design for sex and marriage as revealed in Holy Scripture.

The top three most popular versions currently are: the King James Version (KJV), the New International Version (NIV), and the English Standard Version (ESV). Bible translations can vary greatly in style, and range from Word-for-Word—which focuses on a precise translation of the original text’s exact words as closely as possible into the target language.

In the history of the Christian church, there are three important creeds that summarize the basic (yet very important) points of our faith. These creeds are: the Apostles' Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed. Some folks feel that the Old Testament (OT) no longer applies to Christians because when Jesus came, He fulfilled the laws and prophecies and so pretty much eliminated any need to consider what the OT says.
