History teacher. I don't post.
Yeah. Wot?

I worked out what you meant! Sorry I misread your post. There have always been isolated kids and kids that struggle but in my view the general damage caused by social media far outweighs any possible benefit to a view.

I don't know what you mean to be honest. Why can't kids ask for help if they aren't on social media?

What is the harm in banning social media for under 16s? I struggle to think of a down side.

These seem like two good policies to me!

Tbf while I agree she shouldn't be on X, she is clearly making the point that the action was illegitimate

First sensible thing I've heard her say tbf

To be fair I always find your posts thoughtful and insightful. But I regularly forget who you are and need to check!

Can you prep it in advance?

Not the most important thing I know but isn't there any kind of issue with prejudicing trials or wotnot in America?

Fascinating stuff thanks. We teach both Elizabeth and history of migration so this is very useful.

I can recommend (on behalf of my 8 year old) the Animal Crossing new year countdown party ...

There may not be many prominent voices boosting it, but there are very many that ignore or quietly excuse
January 1, 2026 at 11:45 AM
Why?
December 31, 2025 at 12:46 PM
I'm a (boringly) lefty teacher that has voted Labour every GE of my life. I don't know if I would vote for Starmer again.
December 31, 2025 at 10:44 AM
That's what I meant! I was actually quite sceptical till I read (parts of) it, but don't think I have met anyone else who has read much of it
December 30, 2025 at 10:34 AM
I have met quite a few people who can't stand TLAC. Never met anyone else who has actually read it.

Old skool. Shabbes

Do we know who made this (apparently) outrageous decision? I am a Jewish history teacher and few things have made me as angry as this. I am going to write to HMDT and encourage colleagues to do so.

Heard him on Ezra Klein back in the day and to me he seemed incoherent. The state is evil but the state must impose Christian values. I don't get how that works
December 19, 2025 at 6:21 PM
Never heard of him before. Going to listen right now! Thanks.

So depressing and disappointing

My understanding is the proposed P8 measure includes 4 slots with incentive to choose at least 2 from 'creative' subjects, humanities and languages. This does not seem to put hums and arts in competition with each other.

Do you think it reflects ideological impulses? Or do they simply believe this is where the votes are?
October 26, 2025 at 10:55 AM
I think they are mostly at risk of attack because they are Israeli ... but violently targeting any group of people is actually not ok! We risk making it sound like if they were being violently targeted simply because they are Israeli, this would be fine.
