One of my favourite films, Brian Frouds puppet designs are so wonderful.

What's really terrifying is actually how quickly one can burn through a comic artists lifes work 😂

I voted against this madness, it is a bitter cup we sup from, never has being proven right been so hateful.

And it'd be the opposite in England, if you mention pancakes most people would imagine the crepe style ones. 😆
All variations go great with maple syrup though. 🍁

Also as a long suffering full metal dwarf gyrocopter owner, my nostalgia for classic WfB metal models has a severe handicap. 😂

I think we can at least agree the old tin soldiers were more practical for actual table top games.
The classic armour/weapon designs are beyond reproach, l was mostly refering to the proportions of sculpts, hight of models, thickness of the spear shafts etc, rather than the actual composition.

A lot of the new old world models look like the modelers are trying to compromise between more modern sculpt methods and the janky artistic/tech limitations of the older edition models.
Like they're trying to make them badly on purpose so they 'match' the old sculpts they're reselling.

All the new sculpts have such bizarrely inconsistent quality, some look amazing and some look like they were completely phoned in.

I preferred it in Dawn of War/3rd Edition when the Eldar pronounced it as 'Mon Kigh' it sounded more like a fantasy/alien name/insult for humans and less like 'oh look stupid monkey'.

Honourable mention to the Dolphins I saw off the coast of the isle of Skye in Scotland in my youth and the Woodpecker I saw/heard going to town on a tree this year.

To be fair those look a lot like 'English' pancakes.
I've been trying my hand at Scottish/American style

I've only watched a couple of seasons and the jarring difference in art direction/costume quality between different episodes gave me whiplash. 😂

This is the exact kind of passionate deep dive thematic fan theorising I used to read in all the old RE forums and I miss it dearly. 😂

I start a new game+ but alas I'll be spending all weekend packing ready for the house move.

Yeah it was quite a special event, I wouldn't have dreamed Yamaoka would tour so close to were I live. The room completely erupted when he came on at the end with a live mandolin for the original theme.
I’ve just realised it was 10 years ago this year. 🫠

Great that you got to see Bowie!

He's one of those chaps who 'knows a guy' 😂
It's also how I first played Silent Hill. I think they were both the American versions of the games which were slightly different to the EU versions.
I'd like to stress that I did subsequently buy official copies of those games when I had money. 😅

Happy REversary!
I remember first seeing OG RE being played by older kids on a PlayStation, must have been 97/98. I didn't play my first game personally till 1999 when my uncle gave me a cracked copy of RE3 for my birthday, I don't think it'd even officially released in the UK at that point. 😂

The ambient NPC dialogue from Gothic 1 and 2 lives rent free in my head, it really feels like you're hearing a tiny snapshot of a conversation, it's not even full sentences just npcs reacting to hypothetical information and (to me at least) it's iconic.

The combat does feel like a grind towards the end. In SH2R combat encounters could be quite dynamic and genuinely terrifying, but in F it's more often like a chore. The scarecrows are probably the best/creepiest enemies in my opinion.
