I’m sorry Science Baby is causing you so much stress right now. Yay for still having symptoms, at least, and I hope the OB can allay any worries when you go in. ❤️

Could it be that Science Baby is causing you to have a new sensitivity to the lotion?

Yup. It’s not only galling laziness, but it’s poor hiring practices to automate everything and never have humans involved in the process at all.

For the same reason they make you upload your resume and a cover letter and then make you retype your resume into boxes and drop-down menus on their website: so that they can automate as many screening processes as possible.

I have a job (for now, anyway) with Transport Canada. 🙂

*hugs* Hang in there! This is one of the most stressful parts of pregnancy (I know this from my friends, not personal experience, FWIW). You got this. ❤️

Yes, but Sharon is an excellent and informative writer.

Many years ago, one of my friends wrote a one-act play in which he kept a pun on a "transparent plot device" going for an entire scene that took place in a cemetery. I feel like you and your husband would appreciate that. Those were good times. :)

Sounds like you found a keeper! Conversely, if your plot is large enough, you can hide all sorts of sins in there...

Yes, I think that definitely plays a big role in it.

I do miss that. Sure, there were similar problems to current social media, but I remember having in-depth conversations and huge comment threads that allowed for more nuance.

Oh, cool! I joined in 2002 because all my much cooler friends had an LJ. ;)

I do miss the conversations I used to have with my friends in comment sections on LJ. I feel like that art has been sort of lost since the advent of shorter-form social media and the appearance of the Almighty Algorithm.

I wasn't an early adopter, but early enough that I needed an invite code to get one, and I bought a permanent account for $100 back when that was a thing. XD

I'm in the same boat. I was the right age but somehow never made it off LJ and into MySpace. Perhaps I missed the window by a couple of years.

I mean, I am not here to kink shame.

Thank you!

Do you perchance remember the title or the author? I must read this obvious masterpiece.

PLEASE tell me this fic is on AO3?

RIP to my notifications. If you tried to talk to me today I likely didn't see it.
