There are no ads in my paper journal. I don't have to rent an app, or pay for storage space to write stuff down on its paper and it can't be data mined for marketing or used to train AI bots.
Happy New Year!
For 2026, I intend to be less digital, more analog and more present (with myself and others). Technology has bound us to file formats, subscriptions, storage limits and surveillance. Freedom is stepping away — from the screens, the feeds, the apps — and back into the physical world.

I highly recommend this TED talk by Adam Aleksic, The Etymology Nerd
Why are people starting to sound like ChatGPT?
Algorithms and AI don't just show us reality — they warp it in ways that benefit platforms built to exploit people for profit, says etymologist Adam Aleksic. From ChatGPT influencing our word choices ...

My latest discovery online has been the teachings of Krishnamurti. This video particularly rings true with the way I have felt since I was very young...

I find myself drifting further and further away from the digital world lately. I've become disenchanted with it all. My focus has even become more analog writing with a fountain pen instead of typing, reading a real physical book, instead of an ebook, physical excercise and meditating more.

Does composing corporate correspondence using AI make up for all the time wasted using Microsoft Authenticator?

If you think it’s stressful to live paycheck to paycheck… Could you even imagine what it would be like to live in a war zone? Sometimes I think I have problems but then think about the people of Gaza or Ukraine and how hard it must be just to make it through another day, hour, minute, etc

“Hope Scrolling” through #nokings posts on Bluesky restores a bit of my faith in humanity. Especially the photos shared of smaller American towns. Thank you all!

My thoughts on social media? 🤔 I’m pretty sure that I’m just screaming into the void. 😱 I’ve really lost all interest in it. 🫩 I’m not sure I feel the need to know what other people think anymore. 🤷‍♀️

Before you get all giddy and smug about the person who is NOT DT for winning the NPP you might want to check and make sure she’s not a pawn in a plot to overthrow a government and steal a country’s resources. It certainly wouldn’t be the first time.

So RFK Jr is telling everyone Tylenol and circumcisions cause autism, vaccines and GLP-1 drugs are poison, meanwhile the WH is wheelin’ and dealin’ with big pharma and opening a federal online apothecary. 🧐🤔😖

What fresh hell is this?
BREAKING: Elon Musk's xAI has signed a deal with the federal government to allow the integration of its Grok AI with federal agencies.

Am I the only one who thinks “anti-ICE” scrawled on a bullet is suspicious AF? It just doesn’t make much of a statement. It’s so weird. Also why isn’t all this violence attributed to this nation’s lack of mental health care?!

It’s not just disagreement anymore. MAGA politics feels like living in a forced fake reality—where obvious truths are denied, history is rewritten, and confusion is the goal. Gaslighting a whole country is dangerous. Anyone else feeling it?

I live in a food desert and since a few quickie mart-type places closed about a year ago, there is nothing within walking distance. The nearest grocery store is 2-3 miles away. After seeing what these stores are like in Japan, I would welcome having one in my neighborhood.
The Japanese parent company of 7-Eleven is betting billions of dollars that it can expand its business in the U.S. by making its convenience stores more like the food meccas they are in Japan. www.nytimes.com/2025/09/09/b...

The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $6.6 trillion, after getting $1.2 trillion richer over the past year alone.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country is getting squeezed by tariffs and high prices for groceries, utilities, and health care.

The system is broken.

The GOP loves railing against ‘cancel culture,’ yet they’ve become its biggest practitioners—banning books, punishing teachers, silencing companies, and attempting to erase entire histories and people they don’t like. It’s not about free speech. It’s about control over whose voices get heard.

No life—Charlie Kirk's included—should ever be reduced to an ‘acceptable cost.’ As someone who opposes violence in all forms—against people, animals, and the planet—I can’t see death as ‘worth it.’ His loss is another reminder that every life taken by a gun is a wound that never heals.

More and more, I'm witnessing the right express annoyance and aggravation over the policies implemented by the people they voted for.
