Optimistic Enthusiast for humanity, worried by how dismally clueless our species still is. We're barely out of the primaeval mud in truth, yet we strut around behaving important

More soon - very recent joiner escaping the damaged political Twittter.
That's an extremely good point.

Sadly there's sod all GOP on bluesky. Maybe you mirrored this on that grittier platform run by the crazy car guy....

Thank you for the gift link Aaron (can I reciprocate with anything from the NYT ?)

This (above) is now happening to George Conway - a completely bogus AI YT channel called Conway Media is now impersonating @gtconway.bsky.social, using his voice, a slightly younger version of him visually, and delivering fulsome polemics in quite well-written Conwayian prose.

I heard a comment the other day re AI and 'detecting' what was AI-Slop as we go forward. The commentator pointed out that over time, we'd likely find that "slop" was the default state/basis of much AI output, and it would be easier to "validation-stamp" the TRUE stuff. A bit like a signet ring

Much uglier tha this electric beauty...

I'd quite lke one of these much-better-looking Studebaker Electrics from the 1890s: much easier to park / great around town...

Kids seem to have messiah-worship over Elon / talk of him as if hes invented something new. They don't realise we've been making Electric vehicles since the 1880s.

All Tesla has contributed is the ground-breaking ugliness of the CT,
and the ground-breaking collapse in customer relations.

Personally I find the 1893 Studebaker Electric quite a bit cooler looking than the 2025 Cyberpig...:

Yes - in Europe Green energy is going well. This is the energy mix we now have in UK -summer chart shows most days we're about 75% green powered:

SUPERB POINT THAT NO-ONE ELSE IS MAKING.
December 29, 2025 at 10:28 AM
Means nothing to compare large nations with small. You need to replot it based on investment $/Square mile or per Capita.

US is trailing massively in green energy because of the imbeciles running the US govt currently.

Yes the GOP is different. It's ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE more corrupt.

Let's remind ourselves who they're happy to call their 'president':

PERFECT SUMMARY.

Put like that, a determined Congress should be able to have most of that under way by lunchtime...

....sadly we only seem to have a broken-down / frightened / concentrated-on-it's-own-bank-balance Congress...

>> distance travelled d by an object in a set interval t :
speed = ( d / t );

SO,
1) given that of late, 'Time' is regarded as a perhaps-NOT-fundamental aspect of the universe, but rather an 'emergent' one... where does that leave C, it being just such a calculation ?
December 10, 2025 at 11:47 AM
Just listening to Brian with Neil De Grasse Tyson.

Simple question I hope: we're used to C (the speed of light) being universally regarded as a fundamental constant (I think Brian named three such fundamentals in toto) -- BUT any speed, is a computation - of >>
