Yes. If 100 babies are born, and half of them day, it lowers the average lifespan of the entire cohort. Average lifespan at birth is the most relevant to this discussion.

That’s kinda the thing. Fish don’t exchange gasses by breathing. They ventilate their respiratory organs (gills) by pumping water over them through their mouths.

Here are my under-the-deck-wren-family friends yesterday morning before they fledged. They only ventured out of the nest when they were ready for taking off and were gone 30 minutes after. They had a grand time hopping around before they left. The last one needed some coaxing from mom.

Patent leather beetles are fun. They look wicked mean but are super docile and make a cute squeaking noise when you pick them up.

I’m no Tesla apologist. I don’t like misleading stats though.
The Pinto ‘killed’ orders of magnitude more people than that. In 2-1/2 years alone, it killed 1,626.
I would like to see how the Tesla rate is comparing to other modern manufacturers.
