I’ve been doing Jólabókaflóðið with my family for about a decade now, and heartily recommend having everyone open a book as a gift on Xmas Eve and then read together with hot chocolate, or iced chocolate since we’re in the Southern Hemisphere. The kids - now 12 and 13 - absolutely love it.

It can take long time; in my case, it took about a decade to really bed in down here.
