Yeah the colors are way more vibrant and inviting in the new version. I imagined the focal point is something happening in the seats of the restaurant (maybe the fact that it’s empty?) - you could sparingly use the green accent there, have light rays there, cast shadow on non-focus points etc

I will say, a lot of times I am just haphazardly throwing in objects of any color into a scene and then just fixing it in post lol

I messed around a tiny bit with the scheme you liked, and was drawn towards using the warmer colors (orange, pink) for the focus of the shot and cooler (blue) for areas that are in shadow. I tried using green for the plants but ended up liking a more yellowish green

Color direction really depends on the kind of vibe you're going for! In that example there's a heavy use of analogous green with a couple of bright yellow accents, it's very subdued and chill
