Got a sensible chuckle out of me despite proximity to "read a book, you darn kids" territory.

By contrast, the dad in Family Circus was based on the original Bil Keane as well, and it always amused me that in the early strips before it became more commercial, he wouldn't always make himself look the best. 😂

Legend of the Mystical Ninja was part of a wildly successful Japanese series that barely made it over here, and that one game that did is one of my faves. A combo of preliminary top-down Zelda style gaming and fast-paced side-scrolling, with tons of quirky Japanese details and fantastic bosses.

I hope James Gunn uses this freak at some point.

It really is impossible to overstate just how funny and unhinged this movie is, how many ridiculous swings it takes, and how it lands every single one of them.

He's already a legend.

It's Pride Month! Quote this with a queer character. 🏳️‍🌈

I think you're genuine and I appreciate that, but I had to screenshot this INCREDIBLE screen placement.

Day 11 - Renegade Girls by Nora Neus and Julie Robine

This is one of the most unique stories I've read in a while - a 19th-century queer romance set in the world of renegade journalism, centering on the labor movement and a love story between two fictionalized real-world female journalists.

Day 10 - Hey, Mary! by @andrewwheeler.bsky.social and @ryehickman.bsky.social

This is a powerful story of a young queer kid battling between his identity as a gay man and his deeply held Catholic faith - and finding solace from speaking to religious figures. A really unique, passionate story.

Day 9 - Batcat by @meggietheramm.bsky.social

This all-ages OGN series set in a whimsical Halloween world is full of kid-friendly adventures that are mildly spooky but never scary and have great messages. It also stands out for its non-binary protagonists - a great subtle message of acceptance.

Day 8 - Holler by @massiemakescomics.bsky.social

An honest, powerful rural punk rock coming-of-age story, it also features a painful but very authentic story involving the main character's gay close friend in a time and place where being gay was even more challenging than it is now.

Day 7 - Dying Inside by Hannah Klein and Pete Wentz (Yes, that Pete Wentz)

An emotional, darkly funny comic about a suicidal teenage girl who accidentally curses herself with immortality, the witch who tries to cure her, and what happens when love happens at the most inconvenient time possible.

Day 6 - Dan in Green Gables by Rey Terciero and Claudia Aguirre.

By contrast, this book uses the original story as a thin veneer for a compelling tale about a queer teenager moving in with his grandparents and trying to navigate life in rural Tennessee. Honest and uplifting read.

Day 5 - Anne: An Adaptation of Anne of Green Gables (Sort Of) by @kagcomix.bsky.social

Adaptations are a tricky business, and this one is surprisingly faithful - modern, but perfectly adapts the original Anne of Green Gables characters and tone into a sweet middle-grade queer romance.

Day 4 - DC Pride 2025

DC's Pride Month anthology always goes all-out, and this year is no exception. With a main framing story focused on Alan Scott by @timsheridan.bsky.social, it's both a brilliant follow up to the past Alan Scott mini and a spotlight for DC's best queer creators and characters.

Day 3 - Everyone Sux But You by @jukeboxcomix.bsky.social

Teen love isn't smooth, and that goes for queer teen love too. This aching post-high school memoir follows two teen girls with troubled home lives as they find themselves going down different paths. Painful, beautiful, and all too real.

Day 2 - Love Languages by James Albon

A really unique graphic novel set in Paris and chronicling the tender, slow-burn romance between two professional women from very different backgrounds, who overcome a language barrier to learn about their new home together and find what makes them truly happy.

He's the demon in pride month and he's ready to be unleashed on the bigots.

Day 1 - Carousel Summer by @kagcomix.bsky.social

It's been a while since I read a comic that so perfectly encapsulated the vibe of first queer love, of coming out, and of trying to figure out your identity in your early teens. This might not be the last time Gros shows up on this list in June.

Introduce yourself with 4 games but it's the 90s. 🕹️

They got away with some weird stuff back then! (plus Zelda)
