Everybody remembers the Skeletons from 'The 7th Voyage of Sinbad' and 'Jason and the Argonauts'. Did you know that Ray Harryhausen also animated a Skeleton model in 'First Men in the Moon' (1964)? Martha Hyer's character Kate is x-rayed by the Selenites after being captured on the moon!

The Baboon from 'Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger', complete with chess piece. Posted in tribute to Damien Thomas, who passed away earlier this month. His character Prince Kassim was transformed into a Baboon for the majority of the 1977 movie, with Thomas' performance bookending the film.

Happy 90th birthday to Gary Raymond, who played the treacherous Acastus in ‘Jason and the Argonauts’ (1963). Unlike Acastus, who met a messy end at the teeth of the Hydra, he went on to become a popular television star in the USA after starring in ‘Jason'.

Happy Easter! Here’s an appropriately long-eared creation whose starring role was fifty years in the making.
‘The Tortoise and the Hare’ was begun by Ray in 1952 but unfinished. The film was completed with animators Screen Novelties in 2002- a seamless piece of work combining the old & new footage.
