We used to ask, will Ukraine be part of NATO. I think we need to ask whether the US will be part of NATO. Why should they bother with us? Trump is obviously an agent of Russia and is trying to hurt the US. Why bother with him? #TuckFrump

I despair of the Democratic Party. Is there anything I can do that does not lead only to more fundraising emails? I wonder.... prospect.org/politics/202...
The Democratic Brand Has Tanked. Trump Is Doing the Same to the Republican Party.
In the battle of brands, neither party is doing very well.

I am getting data from the portal at CalHHS, the California health agency. There is a large number of datasets but they are ... diverse in structure. I am putting them into mysql. Looking for collaborators or suggestions for use cases. Any suggestions. #OpenData opencalaccess.org/hcai/

Know why Trump said his famous phone call was "perfect"? It is an odd way to describe it in English. But the Russian word "otleechno" is used this way in common speech and it translates as "perfect". So, when Trump asked his handlers, they said "...it's perfect. No problem."

Putin had a phone call with Trump. How amazingly convenient. Trump can call Putin directly and does not have to go through his FSB handlers as he used to. :--)

Paid a bill today and I see that checkbox: "Sign up for automatic withdrawals." Hey, let's give all of these companies the ability to get my money whenever they want. Hmmm. You know, if they gave me a $10 discount on my bill, I might. Why don't they? Cui bono?

My news consumption has ... changed lately. Should I listen to NPR and risk hearing the voice of Xxxxx, given that his voice makes me want to vomit? Or do I change to the oldies station and listen to "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" for the 10,000th time? Well, it turns out that AC/DC still rocks!
