He turned and moved over to the fireplace, kneeling as he placed a pair of logs into the still-hot coals. He kindled the fire back, causing a warm glow to fill the room. “I'm guessing you would like some sausage for breakfast?” “Mmmm, yes,” Stolas’ tone shifted to his most sultry. “Give me some sausage, and maybe I'll make you some eggs in return.”

The cobblestone walls were green with moss and ivy. The right half of the roof was dominated by a wooden addition, Stolas’ eyrie, the left half by a widow’s walk. Even from here, Blitzø could make out the large shrouded telescope perched up there. The chimney for the hearth and bedroom fireplace slipped up the back of the addition, and small curls of white smoke could be seen drifting lazily out. ”I’ll be back soon, Stols.”
