For a different way to look at it:

Yeah, bringing up unrelated topics (waffles) in response a benign opinion (pancakes) can be annoying.

This is more like a ihop manager insisting that we only talk about pancakes, while the entire clientele is saying "rats are running free in your restaurant"

I was thinking about how there are so many instances where it's *required by law* to have insurance too, which is w i l d that you are forced into this obvious scam; and then I realized you're not the one being insured, it's capital insuring itself against you

Sharing knowledge, encouraging small-scale opportunities (networking for industry newcomers etc) is not where the big bucks are, therefore completely thrown to the wayside. Ditto re support for marginalized groups. No interest in moving out of SF because that is itself a sieve, only letting money in

GDC revamp caters to libertarian founders and platform holders (incl content marketplaces like Roblox, Fortnite etc); and satellite entrepreneurs (influencers, streamers). "Traditional game dev" is thrown under the bus. Makes sense for a private event that is only concerned with following the money
