Together, this threatens to demolish the global scientific ecosystem in which scientists collaborate to solve planetary problems like pandemics, cancer and climate change. It is disruptive to new discovery and endangers the future of science.

Today, Standupforscience rallies will take place in dozens of cities in the US, Canada and Europe. Scientists unite to voice their concern over the recent major cuts in scientific funding, collective firing of early career scientists and unilateral reduction in funding for universities.
