Via Justin Pollard's biography on the man, I discuss Alfred the Great, the Anglo-Saxon king (r. 871-899) who repelled the Vikings and set the foundation for a unified #England. He's also the only British monarch to be given the title "Great." #BritishHistory #MonarchHistory
