It's not apples-to-apples - campaigns last different lengths, and have different things "count".
Anyway, fundraising more-often-than-not is a function of who you are asking for money from, rather than you being especially persuasive to get people to give money they otherwise would have not.

I don't think it's donors honestly - Liberty's donor restricted endowment is $31M which is surprisingly small. In contrast, W&M's is ~$120M.

There is an example: Liberty University. Sure, they have predatory marketing practices, are indifferent-to-actively-hostile towards students, have adjunct-ified their entire faculty, and reportedly engage in actual human trafficking, but they have enough money!
