APS has a large utility scale solar portfolio and there is tons of solar farms being built. Phoenix has the best solar plant builder, McCarthy. I don’t think the utilities are against it. Would love to see more built!

However, the city of Tempe recently raised concerns about the costs of the event and denied a proposal to race at Papago Park, despite the Phoenix Host Committee's willingness to cover any expenses incurred by Tempe. Now, Phoenix is shifting gears toward new venues, including a track around the state fairgrounds.

The aircraft achieved the maximum recorded airspeed of 180 Knots IAS at about 08:08:42 UTC and immediately thereafter, the Engine 1 and Engine 2 fuel cutoff switches transitioned from RUN to CUTOFF position one after another with a time gap of 01 sec. The Engine N1 and N2 began to decrease from their take-off values as the fuel supply to the engines was cut off. In the cockpit voice recording, one of the pilots is heard asking the other why did he cutoff. The other pilot responded that he did not do so.

At least the Dbacks aren’t in the bottom half of everything. I also think I’m getting more on board with this idea for the Arizona Diamondbacks to adopt full time:

This reminds me of the Japan v Spain game at the 2022 World Cup. The camera angle not being down the line creates a slight illusion. Not sure if softball rules contemplate the curvature of the ball being over the line or not.
