Old guy into TTRPG's (Pathfinder/Starfinder mainly), punk music, photography, guitar playing, reading fantasy/sci-fi. Originally from the PNW now living in central coast CA.
A NFL game is not an appropriate venue for an oath of enlistment ceremony. Fuck the NFL for allowing it.

When I was doing a 365 photo project and got bored I'd sit in the garage and just screw around to see what I could come up with. #photography flic.kr/p/6MWF6k

I think the next time someone thanks me for my service (for whatever reason I acknowledge my service) I'm going to say, "unless you vote blue, fuck your thank you!" That probably won't happen...I don't wear things announcing my vet status like some kind of attention seeker.

I could almost hear the collective groan from the Mariners fan from CA as they drop game 4 after going up 3-0 through 4 innings.

My game of choice is Pathfinder (1 or 2e) but I've had a chance to play some of the other games like Draw Steel, Huckleberry, Savage Worlds and the like but I've not been able to play a campaign where you play the same character and have them grow. I've been a bit meh on them because of that. #TTRPG

Prior to 2020 I played TTRPG's in person and had no problems. I played TTRPG's via virtual tabletops during the pandemic and I got spoiled with the automation (first Fantasy Grounds and then Foundry) and now find it hard to play in person. So many moving parts to remember without automation.

Discord channels are interesting. I'm on one hosted by a famous person and people clamor to join and then never participate. Most threads are like 10 people posting inane stuff about their day. I post but I keep my inane stuff to myself...no one needs to know how inane my work day can be.

How Gavin is interacting with the Trump administration has been, at the very least entertaining, but that does not make his the heir apparent for the DEM nominee next election. Use him to rile the GOP but for fuck sake don't make me have to vote for him. He isn't what we need as the face of the DNC.

Just finished listening to 24-Hour Warlock by Shami Stovall and it's just as good as books 1&2 of the series. I enjoy the main characters growth and his growing found family. I'm looking forward to more...especially to see where the last interaction that ends the book leads.

My lifelong Mariner's fan prediction...they'll tank the rest of August, play 50/50 ball to begin September, give us some excitement in the middle of September with a mini win streak and then lose every must win game to make the playoffs closing out the month. #mariners

When a d20 dice rolls poorly you can toss it aside and try a new one. Dice can be fickle & not balanced correctly. With VTT's like Foundry there isn't a way to determine if the RNG is balanced. The dice analysis mod in Foundry shows a 2 is my most rolled & by % 10 or less more often the 11 or more.

I know that the Monterey Bay Car Week brings in tourism revenue but man the event is just plain horrible. Traffic is horrendous...little rich boys with their vanity toys are reckless. I don't see the appeal myself...you've seen one lamborghini, bugatti, or ferrari you've seen them all.

If you like early rock & roll and haven't discovered the Zamrock genre yet...let me introduce you. Back in the 60's the leader of Zambia wouldn't allow western music to be played on radios so Zambian musicians created their own sound inspired by western rock bands and infused it with African sound.

Professional organization email hyping up their HEUG Alliance 2026 conference. Sorry but not just no but hell no...not attending your conference in Florida...fuck Florida.

Instead of changing James Bond...how about giving us a Cate Archer - No One Lives Forever movie.

@drslayton.bsky.social I so appreciate your books and really look forward to reading more stories set in the Liberty House and Adam Binder world.

So if I want to read the Dungeon Crawler Carl comic on WebToon I have to use their app? I don't want to read a comic on my flippin phone...oh well. Matt has enough of my time and money...I'll skip the comic.

I received my The Nuadan Chronicles books yesterday. I don't even remember when I supported their Kickstarter campaign but I'm glad they were able to bring the game to fruition. The books are beautiful...now just need to find people interested in something non-DnD to play it with.

WSDOT is shutting down I-5 northbound through Seattle this entire weekend...that's going to go well. Sucks for those of you visiting Seattle this weekend and aren't paying attention to travel advisories. Stop in Portland & just hang out there...it's weirder and less techbro.

I guess I can't watch Netflix from work during lunch anymore...I'm not going to add an account just so I can be entertained while I eat my lunch.

I was starting to get all excited about the Mariner's and then they reverted back to how I expected them to be. I'll never learn...

You could have written the best book in the world but if you use Virtual Voice for audible books I'm not going to listen to it. Get a real person to voice your book.

I'm GM'ing Pathfinder 2e Rusthenge with some friends who have never played PF2e and I guess they enjoy it. Two of the players couldn't play our normal night this week but instead of canceling they asked to play another night. Yay...
