You would not believe how many stories like this have been popping up over the last ~5 years

Not just full games cancelled—entire characters and plot lines removed or changed, leaving less time for making the *rest of the game better*, to try avoiding a small and malicious contingent of voices.

Yeah that was my other theory, but I'm careful about not letting my hope of watching that bubble finally pop overshadow other potential reasons... But I really hope you're right!!

I do know that I exist in a massive anti-AI bubble and that most people just simply do not give a fuck one way or another, but the hyperbolic lies and over-statements are still quite shocking to witness honestly, and I do wonder... why? Does AI-related headlines make loads of clicks?

Is it me or does this kind of stink of massive investment in public image being made in the press right now

Two different articles from The Independent and Bloomberg Opinion being hyperbolically enthusiastic about the place of AI in the US audience' lives (the first one mentioning that "nearly a third of americans have had a romantic relationship with an AI according to a survey", and the second one already claiming that Tilly Norwood, a fake AI actress, is going to lead to a race for "best AI in a leading role" for the Oscars) posted 3h apart from each other.
