Here's @oliverdarcy.bsky.social describing how the big national newsrooms characterized Kash Patel as they reported on his appointment. www.status.news/p/cbs-evenin...

"Conspiracy theorist" and "Trump loyalist" are both factually correct. So it becomes a question, not of accuracy, but of truth.

How many of the no votes are from districts where schools are being closed and class sizes are increasing? #akleg #alaska
Kudos to the House for voting to discharge HB 69 from the House Education Committee. The conversation on education funding now moves to House Finance, where the bill will be taken up tomorrow at 1:30 PM. Watch on Gavel Alaska here: www.ktoo.org/video/gavel/... #akleg

Trump’s first 3 weeks have been a relentless flood of actions. It's incredibly hard to keep up.

Here’s a great one-pager about NSF funding in Alaska. UAF gets more than $51 million to do research that supports the state, the country, and the world.

This is what they want to cut.

This is terrible. The enormous pressure on @lisamurkowski.bsky.social is a function of the cowards in the Senate who won’t cross Trump or party boss Musk. #alaska
Oh right, State Director for Murkowski also said they’re getting daily death threats not only to Lisa but also all her family members, if she votes no. And getting more yes calls than no on RFK Jr, Gabbard, Vought, etc.

So, they need to hear from those of us who are anti-fascism.
The State Director said the calls they received about Hegseth were 1000 for his confirmation to every 1 against 😳. The white supremacist, pro-rapist coalition in Alaska is energized & organized, apparently. They’re also making lots of death threats to Lisa. So we need to step it up w/ ☎️ .

They’ve eliminated Direct File? Maybe we all should take a break from paying our taxes, especially small business owners? After all Musk and his mega corporations don’t pay any real taxes and he’s quickly eliminating any reason for the rest of us to…
It’s a coup, as Heather Cox Richardson says so eloquently. Sens. Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan have a lot to answer for, staying silent while the Musk machine runs the government.

Convo with my friend from Hungary tonight who left after Orban’s election.

Hopefully the legislature will have the guts to actually override this clown this time. What a stupid short-sighted proposal that does nothing to actually address any part of the crisis.

Great episode yesterday about how DeepSeek is about to pull the rug out from under the American AI tech bubble... this guy is a character (and really doesn't like Sam Altman) but I think much of his analysis of the industry is spot on.
