Over the past 50+ years I’ve written over 275 sets of lyrics, many of them complete songs. Since Bluesky is my new toy, but I’m not abandoning the other socials, I’m going to try something different and post those lyrics, one at a time, as often as once a day.

Written November 27, 1973. In college, I was attracted to a girl named Ruth Byer. Too shy to take action, I wrote a song instead. Her father worked on an oil field in Iran, so I included the phrase "I ran" as an inside reference. After that semester, I never saw her again.
