I write about film (https://myreactionshotreviews.blogspot.com/p/blog-page.html?m=1), and social issues (http://dimensionallybarrett.blogspot.com/?m=1), make art, and post the occasional 🐈. Does that period after cat look like a dropping?

Jesus…

Oh! Sorry! I meant, “Brian…”

I’ve been waiting for my check from Soros for sooooo long! But there’s no 800 number or a CSR I can talk to! So disappointed!

Thanks Jules!

We’re being confronted with a constellation of cults that seem to have coalesced in MAGA. If I see any light in the future (near or distant), it’s that there seems to be some disillusionment and some fraying here and there. But the hardliners are entrenched. We gotta lotta work2do!

Looks to be informative! Gonna hear Annette Ramirez (Harris County’s voter registrar) walk us through her job and the challenges facing the office in light of Texas recent gerrymandering.

Catch you later, Ray! Best to you and yours!🦋

that run counter to their own humanity. All because of old texts and the belief that these are the sacred words of truth that only their team has the keys to. Woof! I just spent too many words on them.

Thanks for the inclusion, Jules. The amount of cognitive dissonance it must take to be a “Christian” must be, huh, mind-numbing.

My sister’s a chaplain and she perfectly understands how and why people are atheists. I’m in the latter camp, but it’s amazing how easily humans will adopt perspectives

the day and sometimes dipping into the 40s at night by this point in the calendar. I’m told I must be wrong and if love the northeast so much why don’t I go back. I likely will, but when I hear that, gee, I just wanna stick around & be a pain the ass a little longer.

Hey FK! Thanks!

I’m so glad global warming is a hoax! Seriously, I’m surrounded by contemporaries with selective memories; dipshits who claim we’ve always had warm falls. To which I reply, no. From my childhood to my late 20s when I finally left Texas, we had temp’s averaging in the 60s during

Another inspiring spread, Josef!

Time for the ritual stuffing of the face!

I’m not. It’s too freaking warm for that…
But here’s a Boston (well, Cambridge) memory…

Happy Wednesday, all! High in the upper 80s here in Houston and not the slightest change of color.

But that’s okay, I have New England memories coursing through my being. So I’ll just put it in my head that it’s crisp air outside, the trees are redolent with autumn hues, and I’m wearing flannel!

Aaaww, but the goats are so dang cute (& yes, so are kitties and dogs!)

They are all balms for a morning of combing through dire feeds! Thanks for whatever adorableness you decide to post, Amy!

This book also come with Fischer-Price’s new action figure “My First Dictator”!

Happy Wednesday, Ray!

very much like Poland in the early 80s. A lot of diverse groups came together in solidarity and I think there’s a decent chance of that happen here. It might not happen soon, but it will happen. The problem is the amount of damage the US will need to recover. Maybe recovery might not be the aim.

daily occurrences. The regime is spoiling for a fight but if they’re met with numbers, if they’re met without violence, there’s likely a better chance on them falling from within. When their narratives repeatedly fail, when everyone feels the pain, it’s entirely possible we might have a situation

we are seeing them become operational day by day. It might be more helpful to act on this understanding and ramp up organizing efforts even more.

Boycotts, a national strike, haranguing political leaders who support the regime at town halls, as well as protests and rallies may well need to become

Morning reading. JVL at the Bulwark makes some solid points but I know longer that “worst-case scenario” is a useful term. We hear phrases like “we’re not there yet” and this belies the urgency of the situation; we ARE “there”, most of the conditions for a totalitarian state are in place and

No preamble, just a strong message from Keith.

Want to help me raise awareness?

We need education and awareness now more than ever. Long Covid is the #1 childhood chronic illness, people need to know the risks. gofund.me/c6fe1e9e

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton fled his home to avoid being served with subpoena, court record says
In an affidavit, a process server said that the state’s top attorney tried to evade him as he attempted to deliver a subpoena from an abortion fund’s lawsuit against the state.
