Excerpt from WIP - “You teased me,” she whispered, her breath hot, her voice threading between praise and punishment. “Every time you thought you were alone beneath that tree, legs spread, dress hiked, fingers buried... I watched you break in silence, and dreamed of the day I’d hear the sound.” Her hand drifted lower again, resting gently on Briar’s thigh now, warm and steady. “Let me hear you now,” she said softly. “Let me have what you denied me all those nights.” Then, eyes locked on hers, voice dropping: “Tell me how it feels, little rose. Tell me what you like.”

Companions obviously but I love the idea of a scene where a character is in peril and there’s just their cat there, watching and doing absolutely nothing but judging them.
