I recently finished Climbing the Stairs by Padma Venkatraman! A YA story about a girl growing up in British-occupied India during the 1940s, Venkatraman skillfully addresses themes around familial expectations, gender roles, war, violence, and religion. #currentlyreading #booksky

It’s been a while since I’ve read middle-grade lit, but I’m preparing to go to an author event tomorrow! Really looking forward to seeing Padma Venkatraman. I’m currently reading Safe Harbor 🦭 and have picked up Born Behind Bars and Climbing the Stairs as well 📚 #currentlyreading #booksky

just finished milk and honey by rupi kaur! it is a poetry collection with four sections: the hurting, the loving, the breaking, and the healing. It was a quick read but intensely personal. Here was one of my favorite poems #booksky #poetry
