That’s awful behavior… I can relate to feeling insecure about my artwork sometimes, but if I come across someone younger and more skilled than me, it’s best to just compliment their work and move on lol. Comparison is the thief of joy anyway.

What you’re describing seems to be a common dilemma for anyone who chooses to make art their business to career. I personally like seeing a variety of artwork, so portraits are cool. But i totally understand why you may post mostly “kidlit-style” to build your portfolio. do whatever works for you 🤷‍♀️
