Interesting. My mind went more towards the $15-$20 bracket including shipping and thought about stretching it to $10-15. $28 is a significant markup where someone is abusing the need for profit.

How much should something like this cost? You give me a price, I’ll let you know if it seems buildable on a mass scale and a rough timeline to actually selling such a thing.

Based on typical designs, seems like an umbrella that uses telescopic folding makes the most compact close.
Couple to a swivel for easy access (not having to twist all the way around) and seems like that would jam on things less.
