This is great! Where does cyclizine fit into this table? It's commonly used pre-hospitally in Ireland and seems quite effective in my experience.

I am aphantasic. I only realised in the last year (after listening to a radio programme). The notion that people see things in their mind blew me away... I had no idea! On the plus side, apparently I'm less likely to develop PTSD.

My family have told they think I have strong autistic traits (a surprise at the time but on reflection I can see their point of view to a degree). I won't go through a diagnostic process for exactly the same reasons.

I think it's insane. I am so glad I don't have to face these issues for my healthcare. Although the system here is far from perfect, it won't bankrupt me halfway through an operation.

I cannot believe that this is a thing. Surely this is abuse? What are people paying premiums for? This seems to be just naked greed.

Ideally I guess the GP would initiate the discussion. This was in Ireland and attitudes are a bit different to the UK. I know everyone is busy, and DNACPRs aren't seen as priority if the person isn't expected to die imminently, so it gets put off.

Attended a man in cardiac arrest recently. NH resident, in his late 80s, advanced dementia and several comorbidities. The notes said "resus to be discussed with family and GP at the time". It was a bit late by then.

Yep, not having feedback positively hinders development sometimes. There are a couple of good schemes around, but they are patchy.

Agree that training by repeatedly having classic presentations makes some of the subtly of the job hard. One can recognise general badness and not be 100% sure of the cause - that's a valid assessment until someone with more diagnostic ability and tests can take over.
